Not counting Military / Law enforcement carry for work. What would you take with you for self-defense and for what situation?
I remember my father used to have a good choice a heavy hardwood cane, if he had to go into or do business in an area that might be unsafe
I like the idea of if I'm going to take a weapon with me to take something that isn't going to put me in jail or get me trouble if I'm stopped crossing the border or by a cop, make a friends or family think I'm a psychopath and still can save my life if necessary
I don't think you need to have a weapon with you at all times but if you need to have a weapon a simple knife that can be opened with one hand with a locking back or a stick can be a good choice
On the same subject I cannot stress enough that any weapon in self-defense is serious business.
Don't ever think you can just take a weapon out to scare someone away or hurt someone a little
If you take a weapon out you might have to deal with cops, civil actions and jail.
I do believe in injury to degree of necessity but that does mean what is necessary to stop an attacker
